The responsibilities listed below are meant to provide a description of the requirements related to this position. However, the functions listed below may not be inclusive of all responsibilities associated with this position. The time spent performing these duties will vary from time to time and may be altered at the discretion of the Company.



  • Maintain systems through upgrades, daily system monitoring and provide end user assistance;
  • Establish and audit appropriate technical systems controls and security;
  • Monitor performance and reliability of the network and servers on a regular basis and implement changes in order to improve or maintain required network response under established procedures;
  • Perform preventative maintenance (OS patches/updates), general repair, installation and troubleshooting of the following equipment:
  • PC’s
  • Network, network devices
  • Servers
  • Printers
  • UPS Equipment * Develop and implement setup/configuration and test procedures, equipment failure reporting, PM audit controls (i.e. virus scans, O/S updates) and related technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN, and PC’s;
  • Maintain up to date technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN’s, WAN, and PC’s;
  • Maintain and enforce all related IT Procedures and Standards;
  • Attain defined department performance objectives;
  • Enforce full compliance on 3rd party software licensing;
  • Prepare operating maintenance budgets for IT Infrastructure;
  • Provide support for telecommunication systems;
  • Liaise with outside firms for system hardware and network consulting and procurement;
  • Provide On Call assistance;
  • Travel as required to perform company duties.



  • Assist in IT infrastructure projects, budgeting, and implementations;
  • Assist in establishing and auditing of appropriate system controls and security;
  • Monitor performance and reliability of network and servers on a regular basis;
  • Enforce full compliance on software licensing;
  • Manage hardware & software assets, third-party services and vendor relationships;
  • Provide first-level helpdesk support and troubleshooting for the IT group.



  • University degree or college diploma in a related field;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of computer networks, data communications, server operations, operating systems, system management activities, Microsoft products, Windows PC applications, computer hardware and Internet technologies;
  • The following certifications would be an asset but are not a mandatory requirement:
  • CompTIA: Network+ (Exam N10-006 & N10-007)
  • CompTIA: A+ (Exam 220-901 & 220-902)
  • MCSA: Windows Server 2012 or 2016
  • MCSA: Office 365
  • Recycling, construction or industrial experience a definite asset.
